While i usually enjoy most of the articles in AARP, "One Day Home Fixes" was a little disingenuous and could actually be dangerous for some people if they took the advice.Jonathan and Drew may be experts in their line of work but to make suggestions based on their parents' situation and apply it to the general population is unwise at best.They would have been better off consulting with a Certified Aging in Place ( CAPS ) specialist, or an Occupational Therapist experienced in home modification. 

     Most folks I know give out Halloween candy that they like, in hopes of having leftovers!  I know I do!As a kid I loved Smarties, Snickers and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I like giving out full bars, because you see and hear the joy from the kids. It’s once a year, and fun.  The neighborhood I’m in is near a school, so getting almost 200 Trick-orTreaters is common here!  I like getting the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups at Sam’s Club, since they have the larger quantities.  Any favorite candies?  

I retired three months ago after a 40‑year career as a lawyer. At first I really enjoyed my retired life, but now it is exactly the opposite; I don’t know what to do. There are so many things and options, but I can’t figure out what would be best for me to do other than sit in front of the TV all day

At 72 years old, I want one last experience with a band I love... I can't go solo due to mobility issues. I've asked my daughters (who experienced 1-Oct 2017) and their partners and my friend and hopefully will get the tickets the minute they go on sale. What say you, AARP Friends?   Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alabama, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Allman Brothers Band, ZZ Top, Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels Band, 38 Special,  New Riders of the Purple Sage, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Eagles and so many more were considered Country Rock.   Nowadays, some country songs are barely distinguishable from rock and other bands have continued the country rock genre. Post your old favorites and newer ones you have found that you enjoy. What songs tell a story about historic events, places or people.  I'll start with a true favorite: Roads to Moscow- Al StewartFrom his 1973 Past, Present and Future album This song tells the story of the German invasion of Russia in WWII. Each verse  beautifully captures the different aspects of the conflict as seen through the eyes of a Russian soldier. When you listen, you can almost see the aspects of the campaign happening.
