Redeeming rewards

Why do I have rewards if you have to pay anyway?  Most places (or apps) that give rewards, use them in place of money. I thought that is what rewards are for. I’m old and confused sorry.

        @MoniqueC566411 Hi Monique, here to help! I reviewed your account and it looks like the only email from Feb was for a $10 Banana Republic gift card redeemed on 2/18/2022.           Complete waste of time, no rewards here.  The prizes aren't worth it anyway.

            Sorry, but I disagree. I pay a low membership fee, and get more in return. I totally think the rewards are worth it. Add it up. You may be surprised at what you find.

              I'm with you - grocery store GCs at 8% discount are better than nothing !  I think at most, from time to time, I can get 5% cash back on my credit card, so 8% is much appreciated.
