I maximize my points every day by watching the videos, completing the daily puzzles and doing the quizzes. I only redeem for the high dollar rewards that I'm sure I will use. I also make sure to add the bonus points that are provided in some emails as these actually let you go over the 7500 maximum points. Before I go shopping I check to see if the store I'm going to has an offer so I can save a few dollars. This is a great program.
I try to accumulate all of the CVS gift cards that I can get from Sweepstakes, Instant Wins, Daily Deals and Purchase with points so that I can cover medical supplies and prescription co-pays with no or very little out of pocket costs. CVS will sometimes offer additional discounts through my CVS Extra Care Card, which can be up to an additional 40% off some items. This allows me to get free or very low cost items!
Rewards Tip: Scheme, seek, and save with AARP Rewards.Starting in January, I have looked for Barnes and Noble Gift cards on the AARP Rewards site. With a combination of Daily Deals, for Points Only and a lucky Instant Win, I have accumulated $120 worth of cards, at a cost of $66; a cool $54 saving! Thanks, AARP Rewards! Why Barnes and Noble? For my grandchildren’s Christmas of course! Peek with me: Christmas morning, two piles of books wrapped in brightly colored paper under the tree; on each, a cuddly stuffed animal and an overfilled stocking. Can you hear the little ones’ shrieks of joy when they spot the presents under Grandma’s Christmas tree?
I love to bundle with other offers from merchants. My most recent was from Cold Stone Creamery, I had a Buy One/Get One coupon that I combined with a $5 egift card and was able to get a treat for my husband and myself for under $1
I view as many videos as possible. I answer the questions for as many quizzes as possible.
I bundle points by doing quiz, the exercise, watching how they prepare food, and I turn those points by entering the contest. Also, I have bought giftcards.
If you belong to other reward services/ programs bundle them together to get a bigger discount. I use my earned points towards places where I usually shop. ( cvs, Walmart, target Safeway). A few months ago I used points to get a $15 Omaha steaks card and soon after I received in the mail a $25 discount plus free shipping from Omaha, bundled them together and placed an order.
I'm saving my AARP points for the contests with the biggest prize awards. This gives me more chances to win the largest cash pots or gift cards.
Creating a password that is not only safe but easy to remember is always hard. There are still people who set their password to the default or something like password123. The easy way to create safe and easy to remember passwords is to create a statement or saying with letters and numbers. Here are some examples:Uhave4cats! Bee4Ugo2?BeforeUgo2!BefourUgo2it?Those8kitsRhard1sThe key is to make up a generic sentence or statement without any specific information about yourself and substitute numbers, misspelling, and special characters that are easy for you to remember. Also, I usually write it out first, then practice typing it on the keyboard to see how easy it is to type and remember. You may find some combinations that are difficult to type or remember.
If I'm buying something or going out to eat, I will first try and look at rewards section and see if there is a gift card that I can buy which can be 10% or 20% off which can save me few bucks or more. This is nice because if you're planning on buying something that's big or on a tight budget you will save few bucks or more in the long run.
I save up the $5 gift cards for Amazon, Walmart and Target which I have redeemed for points only on the AARP Rewards site. This year with my accumulated gift cards I bought a couple of times cat food for pennies at Walmart and Target. I also sent 2 wonderful presents to my grandson for his birthday and payed only $5.24! The rest was covered by the Amazon gift cards from the Rewards program. I still have enough of those cards to cover a portion of my granddaughter's presents for her birthday, which is coming up soon!Save those $5 gift cards to make a useful and meaningful purchase! They become more memorable and make you feel good! I hope this tip will help members. 😊By the way AARP, $10 gift cards would be mighty nice too...... That was another tip! 😀

Hello, My husband and I have joint AARP membership. Back when the points were worth something, we both would earn points each day and enjoyed the larger gift cards we earned. Recently, we have found that if one of us maxes out on points for the day the other cannot earn any points - the other of us will get the message "Sorry, you've already earned points for this or have maxed out." What gives?
AARP & Community, I wanted to express my gratitude to the AARP Community and AARP Rewards. These past several months have been difficult as I am currently immunocompromised and isolated at home. I appreciate very much the AARP Community, the informative articles and valuable resources. I just recently redeemed my AARP Rewards points for Home Chef Gift Cards. Having this home food delivery has been a life saver. Thank you again and please stay safe and well everyone! SuzyQ
Did you know with your AARP membership you can get an additional card for another household member at no charge? This way, even the $5 gift cards for points can end up being $10 or $30 worth for the month. In my opinion, $10 can go a ways at places like Starbucks, Walmart or Target. My husband and I often pair the gift cards for points with the gift cards for purchase; or the Daily Deals with the regular ones. For example, we purchased two $20 REI gift cards for $14 each and a Daily Deal $10 one for $8. This saved us $14, more than our AARP membership. Another way we save is by signing up to receive emails from places we have gift cards. For example, Applebees provides a $5 coupon for doing so.Also, you can usually use coupons along with gift cards. We recently saved at Burger King by doing so.Lastly, our combined Instant Wins have been added bonuses!
